Choosing The Right Suit & Necktie For A Wedding

Every man should have at least one good suit. Most people today work in an office environment where the dress code is casual and they do not see a reason for a suit. But when you get an invitation for a wedding, you are going to want to show up dressed for the occasion. There are only two exceptions when you will not need a suit for a wedding - one is if the occasion calls for a black tie affair and the other is if you are the groom.

Choosing the Right Material
The type of material that you choose for your suit depends on the season. For the colder weather, a wool suit is best. For warmer weather, you may opt for a cotton or silk suit. Silk suits are always in style and are considered to be the top echelon when it comes to mens suits. You may also choose synthetic materials for your suit, depending on your budget. For warmer weather, you want lighter material. For colder weather, be sure to choose a warmer, wool material.

Choosing the Right Color
Darker is better when you are choosing a suit for a wedding. Not only do darker suits look more formal but they are also more appropriate for other occasions. There are several occasions when you may need to wear a suit, and one of these is attending a wedding. The others include funerals and job interviews. Since a darker color is more sober for the other two occasions, it is best to choose a dark gray or even a black suit when you go to a wedding.

Another reason for choosing a dark colored suit, especially gray, is that unlike other colors, it is not likely to go out of style. Mens clothes retain their style longer than womens clothes and you are likely to be able to keep wearing this suit and still manage to stay in style for many years.

Quality Counts
When you are choosing a suit to go to a wedding, you are better off choosing a quality suit rather than a cheaply made suit. Since you are likely to wear the suit more than once, you will want it to last. And if you choose wisely with regard to c women's jackets olor and material, you are likely to keep your suit for some time to come. So it makes sense to spend a few extra dollars and get a quality suit.

How to Get the Suit Fitted
When you purchase a suit, you will have to get it fitted to your frame. Most stores that sell suits will offer this service. If not, then you can take the suit to the tailor to make sure it is fitted to your body. An ill fitted suit does not look good on anyone, so make sure that your suit fits you well.

You can also choose to let out or take in a suit that you already own if you are looking for a suit for a wedding.

What is a Black Tie?
If you are invited to a black tie affair, this is a formal occasion that requires a tuxedo, and not a suit. This does not mean that you just put on a black tie to your suit. A black tie affair is formal and requires you either wearing your own tuxedo, if you own one, or renting a tuxedo. Most men today do not own tuxedoes and rent them on these occasions, which is really a good alternative if you are not likely to be wearing a tux very often.
