Debenhams has announced that sales of a dress ring have sky rocketed due to uncanny likeness to the royal version, following the announcement of Wills' and Kate's engagement last week.
Although the department store's version is a slightly different hue compared to Kate's engagement ring, it is identical in every other way except from the price - it is currently on sale for ?6.
The stone cluster ring has been one the department store's best selling styles for two seasons but has seen a massive 312% boost as customers identify it as very similar to the royal engagement ring.
Carie Barkhuizen, Debenhams PR manager, commented: "Even though it's a slightly different colour, this regal ring is sure to have a long and successful purple reign. It's clear that our customers want to feel like a princess for a fraction of the price - and for ?6 it's a royal bargain.??
